Native Plants Recommendations: Foamflower

I've finally got a new #nativeplantsseries plant recommendation for you!

Foamflowers (Tiarella cordifolia) make a great naturalized ground cover for your shady areas and bloom in May with either white or pink flowers. They thrive in full or part shade, and prefer rich, moist conditions. Bonus: they are deer AND rabbit resistant! Native to the Appalachians, foamflowers will grow about 1' tall and 1-2' wide. They will spread rapidly through runners. Plant them in swaths rather than individually for the best effect.

I so wish I had a moist enough area to plant these in my garden!

This particular photo is from the PHA Flower Show and is of a cultivar called "Brandywine."
